Abhinav Gupta serves as President and Co‑Founder of Skild AI. He is also a Professor at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to this, Abhinav was founding research lead at FAIR Robotics and worked at Google and AI2 as well. At Skild, Abhinav focuses on building a general-purpose brain for robots with a long-term goal of building general purpose intelligence. Abhinav is known for pioneering contributions to AI, including scaling visual and robot learning, self-supervised learning, and lifelong learning systems. He is a recipient of several awards including IAPR 2020 JK Aggarwal Prize, PAMI 2016 Young Researcher Award, ONR Young Investigator Award, Sloan Research Fellowship, Okawa Foundation Grant, Bosch Young Faculty Fellowship, YPO Fellowship, IJCAI Early Career Spotlight, ICRA Best Student Paper award, and the ECCV Best Paper Runner-up Award. His research has also been featured in Newsweek, BBC, Wall Street Journal, Wired and Slashdot.
