Speaker Bio

Raphaëlle d’Ornano is the founder of Decoding Discontinuity and is incubating a market-neutral hedge fund whose investment process is powered by proprietary frameworks designed for the agentic era. She analyzes AI as a structural discontinuity that resets competitive rules and value capture across tech and non-tech industries, rather than simply shifting existing curves. Her Architectural Resilience Assessment Framework (ARAF™) and Durable Growth Moat™ framework assess orchestration potential versus displacement risk. They identify which companies will control the coordination layers as AI agents become autonomous actors and which will face repricing. These frameworks serve as the analytical engine for her fund, positioning long exposures in companies navigating the transition and short exposures in those that do not. Before founding Decoding Discontinuity, Raphaëlle spent more than a decade building an international financial analysis and strategic advisory firm, working with institutional investors and executive teams across venture capital, growth, and private equity on technology-driven transitions. She began publishing her thesis on generative AI as a discontinuity in 2023. Decoding Discontinuity is one of Substack’s leading technology publications, and the AGNT podcast extends the research through long-form dialogue with researchers, operators, and allocators. A former triathlete, Raphaëlle lives in New York with her husband and two children.
