A physicist by training, James Krellenstein is the CEO and co-founder of Alva Energy and serves on its Board of Directors. James’s expertise spans nuclear reactor design analysis, nuclear regulation/licensing, and nuclear project delivery. He has studied the construction experience of 100+ nuclear power plants in the U.S. and globally, with a focus on how project cost and schedule outcomes are shaped by reactor technology, nuclear vendors, EPC execution, and utility project management structures. His peer-reviewed research at Alva has been published in Nuclear Engineering and Design, and he has contributed to reports published by the National Academy of Engineering, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the National Laboratories. Previously, James served on the White House’s Nuclear Deployment Task Force, advising the executive branch on U.S. nuclear energy policy and helped shape the U.S. Department of Energy’s advanced nuclear strategy. He has supported private-sector nuclear clients on reactor licensing, project financing, and nuclear fuel acquisition.
