Pat Gelsinger is a visionary engineer and values-driven leader with over 45 years of experience shaping Silicon Valley as a CEO, CTO, and technologist. He has played a pivotal role in advancing foundational technologies across semiconductors, microprocessors, and industry standards through leadership roles at Intel, EMC, and VMware. Today, Pat is a General Partner at Playground Global, a deep tech venture firm with $1.2 billion under management. He serves as Executive Chair of xLight, which is reimagining free electron laser technology, and sits on the board of Snowcap Compute, a company developing the first commercially viable superconducting compute platform. Outside of Playground, Pat is Executive Chair and Head of Technology at Gloo, a platform serving organizations in the faith and flourishing ecosystem. He is also a speaker, author, inventor, and investor—as well as a husband, father of four, and grandfather of eight.
