Speaker Bio

Isabelle Ryl is a professor in computer sciences. She holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Lille. In January 2024, she was appointed Vice President for AI at PSL Research University. She has spent over 12 years of her career at Inria, in various management positions such as Director of the Paris Research Center or Deputy CEO for Transfer and Industrial Partnership before becoming in October 2018 the Director of PRAIRIE-PSAI (Paris School of AI). She is an expert in innovation issues, particularly artificial intelligence and was vice-president of Cap Digital (French cluster of excellence for digital content and services) from 2014 to 2019, a member of the french Innovation Council (interministerial body in charge of defining the major orientations and priorities of innovation policy) from June 2018 to January 2021, a member of the Board of Directors of the Agoranov incubator from 2011 to 2024, and a member of the French commission for artificial intelligence that produced the report “AI: Our ambition for France” in 2024. She was a member of the expert group on the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe that produced the report “Align, act, accelerate - Research, technology and innovation to boost European competitiveness” in 2024.
