Dr. Jean-Laurent Philippe is the CTO (Chief Technical Officer) for Intel EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). He is responsible for teams of technical experts, covering both hardware components (processors, network controllers, accelerators, etc.) and software (BIOS, firmware, drivers, operating systems, applications, etc.), as well as application optimization, benchmarking, and efficiency (performance and energy). He works closely with major enterprise customers using computing solutions that incorporate Intel technologies (for laptops, workstations, high-performance computing (HPC/AI) and enterprise servers), leading OEMs, and software ecosystem partners. His goal is to promote enhanced AI solutions that continue to meet the growing demand for performance and energy efficiency. These solutions include not only compute elements (microprocessors such as the Intel® Core®, Intel Core Ultra, Intel Xeon®, and Xe families) but also interconnect solutions (including Intel’s networking technologies) and Intel tools (compilers, optimized libraries, development tools such as the oneAPI environment, and AI-focused tools like OpenVINO, Geti, SceneScape, etc.). Jean-Laurent Philippe joined Intel 31 years ago and has held numerous roles in technical support and pre-sales. He has also managed several technical pre-sales teams. He holds a PhD from INPG (Grenoble, France) in Computer Science, focused on automatic parallelization for distributed memory architectures, and in Applied Mathematics (cryptography). He holds two patents in Japan related to automatic parallelization techniques.
