Alban made Sanofi one of the most ambitious large pharmas in embracing the digital promise for healthcare with major partnerships like Owkin, Exscientia and Atomwise. Under Alban’s leadership, Sanofi Ventures significantly increased its activity and led multiple venture investments both in the US and Europe, including NucelAI and Empathica. Alban led $30bn of acquisitions of companies at various developmental stages, including the acquisition of Principia, Synthrox, Translate Bio; Kadmon, Bioverativ, Ablynx and Protein Sciences acquisitions, and numerous portfolio-reshaping divestments, including the sale of Zenitiva. Prior to joining Sanofi in 2016, Alban was heading Morgan Stanley’s French M&A practice, in which the bank was a consistent top 3 player. Alban is a father of two amazing teenagers and has an MBA from HEC Paris. He is an avid swimmer and runner.
