Nicolas began his venture career in 2000 at LabMorgan, J.P. Morgan's e-finance incubator. He left in 2003 to pursue a PhD in chemical biology at Oxford under the supervision of Medicine Nobel Laureate Peter Ratcliffe. In 2011, he co-founded Andurance Ventures, focusing on the 'creator economy'. In 2023, post the publication of LLaMA paper by Meta’s FAIR team in February 2023, he spends more time in France on AI. An early backer of Mistral AI, he also played a key role in the setting up of kyutai.org the largest privately funded open science AI lab in Europe in which he is a founding director. His latest AI venture is StemAI.vc a product focused AI accelerator out of Paris.
